Monongahela Area Library

Monongahela Area Library ways of giving--

The library exists today because people in the past stepped up to help start and keep a library in this community. Can we count on you?

  • Memorial and honor donations are an important means of giving. The form for that may be accessed on the left of our home page. The specific titles or topics may be requested for donations of $25 or more, but, fiction and children’s books see the most use; please consider letting us make the selection based on those needs.
  • We have an annual fund drive for operating costs. Donations may be made at any time of the year. The Monongahela Area Library is a federally recognized 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. Your donation to our fund drive is tax
    deductible.
  • We accept books year round for our book sales! We ask that the books be clean and must free. (We cannot sell encyclopedia sets, college text books or magazines, but you may put them on the “free” bench at the entrance.) Every little bit helps keep your library viable and active

For several years our fund-raising focus has been for a new roof. Our goal was roughly $50,000 based on an estimate of $48,000 a contractor had given us in 2008. When the bids came in, $59,000 was the low bid so we still have a need of Roof Funds.

You may make a contribution marked “Roof Fund” in any amount and send it to the library at:

Monongahela Area Library

813 West Main Street

Monongahela, PA 15063

Donations of $25 or more who request one will receive a copy of Laura Magone’s documentary film. “One Extraordinary Street,” about the many notable people who hail from a city neighborhood. If you would like to see a sample of the film, click on the link on the left of our home page.

We also have an annual fund drive for operating costs. Donations may be made at any time of the year at the above address. The Monongahela Area Library is a federally recognized 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. Your donation to our fund drive is tax deductible.

Memorial and honor donations are an important means of giving. The form for that may be accessed on the left of our web pages or our MAL Memorials page.

There are other ways to help the library. Would you like to volunteer? Stop in at the library and fill out a volunteer application.  We accept books year round for our book sales! Every little bit helps keep your library viable and active.
