The Monongahela Area Library takes pride in a Genealogy & History Collection of more than 800 volumes, microfilm of the Monongahela Valley Republican (1851 – 1870; 1876 – 1908), the Monongahela Valley Daily Republican (most volumes 1881 – 1970), the Daily Herald (most volumes 1970 – 1983) and The Bentleyville Courier (1976 – 1982) newspapers, and governmental minutes of the city from the 1850s to the 1920s.
We ask that these materials be treated with care. They are not to be removed from the room, and do not circulate. You may not photocopy pages, but, digital photography is permitted. Briefcases, book bags, backpacks, and oversized purses or tote bags are not permitted in the room.
We require you sign a consent form agreeing to these rules and provide ID. There is a $1.00 charge to use the microfilm collection and a $0.25 cent per page printing charge.
